L A T E S T R E L E A S E
A lifetime of devotion to yoga has now also shaped Bev Zizzy's artistic evolution, as her musical interests have come to align with the genre of sacred music from Eastern mystical traditions. The influence of mantra music is most apparent in her latest release, I’m Already There ( Special Version), a musical exploration in which she reinvents a song she was introduced to many years ago, when she first heard the lyrics read in a eulogy at her daughter's farewell ceremony. They soon became the opening song in a series of concerts delivered on the anniversary dates of both her daughter's birthdays and departure days, over a period of ten years. Eighteen concerts later - coincidentally one for each year that her daughter was alive - she put the song to rest when she retired from the teaching profession in 2013. But the song unexpectedly returned to her recently, introduced in a serendipitous encounter with someone experiencing a similarly tragic loss. Rather than dismiss it, she took it to the studio, reinterpreted the lyrics from a profoundly ethereal, hauntingly beautiful perspective - one acquired as a gift offered by grief - and delivers them in a totally improvised, mantra inspired style, taking the listener on an evocative 8 minute journey to walk with those who walk beside us now in silence. |

RIDE INTO THE WIND (2016)
|
Ride into the Wind is a lyrical testimonial to this lifestyle, and to the energy that keeps it going, which always essentially comes from the strangers we meet, who are not strangers at all, just friends we had not met until our travels introduced us. As with with all my released music, it is available online for streaming or download wherever you listen to digital music. |
